They will repel all known threats, or any who intend to cause myself, or those dwelling with me, harm. They can also prevent damage, from this attack, for example. But they are not absolute, I admit.

If you refer more specifically to those I can put on people, such as Wesker, they will simply keep them confined. I could also use them to protect, but it is difficult to stretch my powers so far.
