I really don't know yet, I just know I want to travel! Italy and Germany are on the list, but I'm not decided on anything for certain.
I might be due a larger-than-usual tax return next year, and if that happens I'm actually considering a larger trip. My top 3 "if I could go anywhere and money was no object" choices are North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, the Sahara... maybe Egypt, but that could be a whole 'nother trip in itself), elsewhere in Africa for a more traditional animal-watching safari, and Northern India (Rajasthan/Punjab regions). Any of these would most likely be as part of a tour group, as I don't think I could find travel buddies with similar interests. I have a lot of poking around online and pouring over National Geographic Traveler to do!
I'm glad you enjoyed them! I'm tickled to finally be getting all these into digital form so they're more share-able - it was an amazing trip, and I was so lucky to get to see and experience all the things I did. Northern Ireland was particularly meaningful to me, given my heritage and interest in the history and politics there. Not many Americans travel there, and while there are some gorgeous and tourist-friendly spots, there's also a bit of culture shock when you see the evidence of so many years of sectarian violence.

It must have been powerful to see in person.

It was powerful to see in person - and there will be another series of mural pictures once I get all the Belfast pix scanned in.
