It might have happened with a grand plan Jared came up with. He’d have roses and champagne and silk sheets and he would kneel on the floor in the middle of the room, ring held out to Jensen and a smile on his face.

It might have happened while they were on vacation in Hawaii, a much needed break during mid-season hiatus. Jensen would write ‘marry me’ in the sand and Jared would see before the waves washed it away.

It might have happened at their favorite restaurant one night, the ring tucked in the fancy desert, waiting for Jensen to fork into it and hear the cling of the fork hitting the ring. Jared would hold his breath as Jensen’s mouth would drop open in surprise.

It might have happened on set on the last day of shooting. Everyone would be crowded around them at the party that night, Jensen bent down one knee and everyone so silent you could hear a pin drop, waiting for Jared’s answer.

It might have happened when Jared brought breakfast in bed for Jensen on Valentine’s Day. The tray would be filled with coffee, also known as Jensen’s sustenance to live, pancakes, and eggs and a vase with a single rose. The ring would be on the stem of the rose, glinting in the soft morning light.

It happened on the plane to Texas after Supernatural was over, hands tangled together loosely, and a whisper of hey, marry me whispered into Jared’s neck. Jared squeezed Jensen’s hand, saying yes and of course and I love you.
