potthead is an enabler. Based on our talk last night at a restaurant with the owner with the nice a$$.
The first encounter with Jensen sure made an impression on Jared. He visited the Italian place that everyone had raved about, Café Ackles, and wanted to see what the fuss was about. He brought Sophia along because he didn’t want to go alone. When he entered he thought he had died and gone to heaven because the most gorgeous man Jared had ever seen was standing at the door, menu in hand, and the most brilliant smile on his face.
He smiled back and almost forgot about Sophia as they were led to their seats. The guy smiled at them again, putting their menus in front of them, before turning around to head back to the front and Jared couldn’t help but admire the guy’s ass, his jeans molded to it perfectly. Sophia kicked his shin, which was the only reason he looked away, but she was smiling at him. It was a devious smile, which only served to make Jared kind of nervous.
“You know that’s the owner right?” Sophia said, voice filled with laughter.
Jared almost got whiplash trying to look back at the guy.
“No way. That’s Jensen Ackles? Why is he seating people and being generally the opposite of every other restaurant owner ever?”
“Because he said in his commercial that the best restaurants he’s been to had owners that actually cared. He didn’t want to be holed up in the back room, but wanted to get to know his patrons and vice versa.” She stopped and smirked at Jared, “And Jared, it seems like you really want to get to know him.”
Jared blushed and hid behind his menu on the pretense of figuring out what he wanted to eat just as their waiter came to their table.
“Hi, I’m Austin and I’ll be your waiter tonight. Did you guys know what you wanted to drink yet?”
Jared looked up at the guy and saw he was pretty tall, had this adorable little smirk that made him smile crooked, and his eyes were glued to Sophia. Jared looked over at Sophia and saw that she was all but batting her eyelashes at their waiter. It was Jared’s turn to kick Sophia under the table and she blinked quickly, looking down and blushing.
They both ordered Raspberry Italian Sodas but needed more time for their entrées. Jared couldn’t help but surreptitiously glance over at Jensen every once in a while. He did catch Jensen looking back once and felt his cheeks heat up even more as he quickly looked back down at his menu and bread in front of him.
Austin came back and took their orders, smiling a little smile for Sophia. And if Jared hadn’t seen Jensen, or if Austin hadn’t had eyes only for Sophia, he’d definitely be interested. Sophia excused herself and Jared spied Austin’s eyes following her and then him following her too. Jensen came to the table right at that moment.
“I hope everything is okay for you and your date so far?” he said, smiling a little.
“Oh, she’s not my date. But yes, everything is going well, thanks!” Jared said back, needing to clarify that he and Sophia were just friends.
He didn’t think he imagined it, but Jensen’s smile got a little wider.
“Enjoy your meal then,” Jensen said and walked away and Jared resolutely stared at his menu to curb the urge to stare at Jensen’s ass instead.
Sophia came back at right that moment, face a little flushed and a huge smile on her face with her phone clenched tight in her hand.
“You seem happy,” Jared remarked, eyebrow raised.
She blushed and wouldn’t meet his eyes.
“Oh Sophia,” Jared crowed, “did someone get lucky?”
“Jared, shut up! I did not. It was a quick kiss and I got his number okay?” Sophia whispered harshly.
Jared cackled at that. Sophia was never the type of girl to be so bold, but apparently this Austin kid brought it out in her. Not that Jared minded, she needed to loosen up and they looked good together.
Sophia kicked him under the table again and Jared quickly stopped laughing. Austin brought their food out right then and Jared couldn’t look up at him for fear of dissolving into laughter again. He dived into his food and almost missed what Sophia said because the food was delicious!
“Wha?” Jared said, mouth full of pasta. Sophia crinkled her nose at him before repeating what she said.
“Austin said there are positions available to be a waiter, are you interested?”
Jared’s gaze automatically went to where Jensen was standing, behind the bar, and he nodded. He’d love the chance to work here, good food, gorgeous boss, and working with people.
“Awesome, Austin can get you an application before we leave.”
Jared just nodded again, eyes not leaving Jensen’s lithe frame. He couldn’t wait to get started.
