Well, the point of a hoax is to get as many people believing for as long as you can, so they're not going to announce that it's fake. The Piltdown Man didn't come with a tag announcing his fakery, although that would have saved everyone considerable time and effort. And, possibly, Idaho would have a different name if they had discovered they were being had soon enough. (this will never cease to amuse me. My state was named AS A JOKE.)

Anyway. It's been widely reported as a fake. Just google "Swine Flu Zombie Hoax" and it'll turn up a bunch of articles.

ah, see i hadn't heard anything about this. and i'm bothered by it being on a real news source. i'm old-fashioned and i think journalists ought to check facts. other than that, it's pretty hilarious.
