we had a screening for class today, and i have to tell you about it, even though most of you probably haven't even seen the film. it was lover come back, a 1961 comedy featuring rock hudson and doris day. omg, i haven't laughed that hard at a film in a long, long time. i love the comedies they did together anyway, but this one was exceptional. i ( Read more... )

aww! i adore that drawing. it encapsulates all that's good about h/d to me. plus, it's just so nice to see them being happy and in love.

that's starbuck, one of the characters from battlestar galactica. such a hottie, omg.

yes, i can guess why you chose that icon. that might be my favorite of all of your icons :).

hee, okay. yeah, i find that i don't really have very obscure icons.

hahaha! nice of you to explain who that is because i would have needed to ask otherwise. i'm bad at letting go of icons--the icon upgrade lj gave came right at the time when i was seriously running out of stuff to delete.

i don't plan to change my default icon. i looked a long time for this one, and it's perfect, really. she kind of looks like me, and i certainly have my nose in a book while drinking a coffee very often :).

as for the icons that need explanation:
1. that's puppet!angel from angel, the buffy spin-off. in this one ep, he got transformed into a puppet. it was awesome!
2. wot? what's not to understand about possessive!dom!harry??
3. aww, i love that shot! it's one of my "happy" icons. i imagine harry being so head over heels for draco that he can't help smiling at him in the great hall even if everyone goes, "omgwtf??" over it.

aww, why does that make you feel guilty? i don't really use it that often. i think.

aww! so everything listed under 2 and 3 should be what i ought to use more often? and there i thought you listing the dom!harry icon under "i don't get it" was in defense of that dom!draco you have :).

i'm glad you did this one! i was really curious to see what people would pick.

Eee! I love those movies, and they played them in marathon format here on tv last weekend!

Is that the one where hes a song writer and she does interior design? That one was a scream. The other where he is a hypochondriac and thinks he's dying is sooo gay you cant help but love it. <3 the campiness!

aww! yeah, i remember watching them with my mom when i was a child.

no, that's pillow talk. but this one basically has the same plot--it also involves them fighting over one thing, and she hates him because he's such a womanizer, but then she falls in love with him when she thinks he's someone else. the campiness makes me like the movies even more than i already did before i knew what camp is :).

ah, okay, then its the one where he pretends to be a Texan! Yes, the plots are all basically the same, but those two work it well on the screen. You have to wonder if ole Doris knew he was queer back then. I mean...how could you miss it :-P

i've not seen the new battlestar gallactica, as i just couldnt force myself to compare it to the original one.

awww! i really loved the old bsg, too, and i have to say, the new one is very different, but in an excellent way. i'm totally in love with that show.

ah yes. i was wondering if it was him, but it was hard to tell from that angle.

aww! well, i made a few other ones--would you be interested in seeing them?
