No, no, what you should do is _________.
What you should do, is *first* change your name on the OTW stuff. If you're volunteering under Realname and you're just chatting about it under LJname, does that give you plausible deniability?
If you are one of many volunteers working in that area, then yes. If you are doing unique stuff, then no.
It might also depend on how OTW stuff works -- will there be a paper trail or comments trail anywhere on the web (ie, anywhere google-able) that makes it obvious that Realname and LJname are both you?
For that matter, are your LJ entries google-able? F-locking entries is your friend.

I do vote for staying on LJ. Going back and Flocking everything would be annoying, I'm sure. Though that's one reason I flock almost everything, because whiel it's not MY name, it's not hard to find me and see that it's me...

You might have to rename your fannish lj and friends lock it for a while, and then use a more real life name for things that have to do with work. There is no need for your professional life and fannish life to mesh.
