Though yes, Ryan/Brendon 4eva, it is different and special. ♥ I always find myself fascinated by the Alex/Brendon dynamic in these types of situations. Like, what does one even DO with Alex Greenwald? Run away entirely, or kiss him. Those are the choices.

Ngh, Sara, this is so good. *__* There's just -- I love all the dynamics in this, the way you can see with something as full-on & invested as Brendon and Ryan's relationship Ryan would need(/want/whatever) someone like Alex, too, and lines like -- "You're both nuts. That's why you like each other.", and Alex just being goofily sweet, to both of them, like, ridiculous but also generous & so lovely. And then BRENDON, and all of the history inherent there, but in such a clever way (the little bit about Ryan having had to reteach Brendon how to kiss, oh man, that hit me so hard), and then: I love you, Brendon mouthed at him, oh man, I am a little clawing ball of starry eyes, pretend that made sense.

Also I love the way you took Ryan's characterisation in this, and like - never made it something he doesn't want and isn't fucking up all on his own, but also acknowledged… kind of, the way people fall in love with Ryan, I guess? And the way Ryan deals with that -- Everyone always wanted something different from him. Sometimes it was hard to

\o/!!!! I'm so glad you liked this! You realize I hadn't even started a fic in like six months or something?! I'm glad we made this deal because I totally forgot that I could write stories until I sat down and was like okay, make them happy again, and then four thousand words later, they were. Yes! Like if Ryan wants epic love from Brendon and happy sweet fucking from Alex, why can't he have both? Simple solution! He can! :D

I think about halfway through the fic I realized that this was going to be another story in which people love Ryan and give him what he wants, which is just honestly how I roll with regard to my favorite characters (seriously this has been true for my last like ten years of writing fanfiction...eventually everyone loves the one I love best. whole big thing. idc. \o/).

I couldn't help it, it had to be hopeful! Mostly because my original idea for this was to have there be a "and then, a year later!!" section break showing how they still do this sometimes. /o\ Actually though wovenindelibly is teasing the possibility
