Trying to ease back into work--there are people in my life who don't think that what I do is terribly interesting or worthwhile, and even I admit that it's only recently that it's become a gainful employment once again. No, actually. Her situation deteriorated and she had emergency surgery. Eventually, however, she passed away.

Unfortunately, I also get dismissive comments from people about my writing (looking at you, Mom). Right now, my dreams of becoming a professional writer are very vague, so for you, someone who has actually PUBLISHED, to get that kind of reaction must be even more hurtful.

That's wonderful! Your mom sounds pretty formidable. It's got to be great knowing she's there for you.

I truly feel so lucky that my mom is my mom. She's weirdly funny and open-minded and a badass in her own way. This is just the one flaw in her ultimate momness. *shrug* I don't get it.

humor is also tough because its like proof reading your own work.
YOU know what you meant, YOU know the back story, etc etc.
