WE ARE STILL ON THIS

Stiiiiiilll worrrrrking on New Moooooon. To that end, does anyone have a still/screencap of that really ridiculous, blatant fanservice moment when Jacob takes off his shirt to, like, dab at Bella's head? I mean the exact moment when he takes it off, you know the shot. It's an illustrated Fifteen Minutes, and the more on-the-nose the picture is, the ( Read more... )

My friends and I laughed until we cried at this movie. Ironically, I honestly really like the character of Jacob. In any other movie or series he'd be the main hero, not the poor backup plan. Had I been Bella (who, by the grace of GOD I'm not), it would have been Jacob from day one.

Also, was there shrieking when Jacob went shirtless in your theater? Because there was a lot of shrieking in mine, and this wasn't even close to opening day.

My theater (at the preview!) was actually really quiet, but at that one scene, people, like, laugh-gasped. Like, it was gasp-worthy, but at the same time, it was SO BLATANT.

Jacob's actually a really interesting character when he interacts with people other than Bella. But Eclipse makes me want to punch walls, pretty much because of everyone, but particularly some of the shit he pulls.

There was also a rousing game of "count the 8-pack" on my row at the theater with a lot of me going "17-YEAR-OLDS DON'T LOOK LIKE THAT, I DON'T CARE IF THEY FURSPLODE!"

I personally blame a lot of Jacob's passive/aggressive (and downright aggressive) crap on Bella in Eclipse. I honestly never got why Jacob even LIKED Bella. At least Edward had the wobbly excuse of not being able to read her mind. To me, Bella is frustrating and inexcusable when it comes to her treatment of Jacob. It's like "honey, if you don't want him, STOP MESSING WITH HIS HEAD LIKE A DAMN YOYO!"

Needless to say, these books make me VERY angry.

Oh my gosh, I think I know what text effect you mean, but I don't want to say it because I don't want to be That Guy, but I am still VERY EXCITED.

If you can't get an actual screenshot of what you need, there's a backup I know of; if you watch a clip of the scene on YouTube or something and pause it where you want, hit the Print Screen (prt sc) key on your computer. This will make the screenshot automatically, so all you have to do is go into any imaging program and right-click/paste it in. (If you use Paint though, make sure it's set on Select, the dotted rectangle.) I hope this helps!

See, it would help if I read previous comments; I guessed wrong on the text effect. *silly*

Yeah, but I'm using pretty high-quality stills for the rest of the thing; I can screencap pretty much anything off YouTube I want, but I don't know that it'd be good enough. I have a perfectly good, hi-res still from the same scene... it's just not THAT shot, you know?

Yeah, I gotcha. That sort of thing would bother me too, if I was doing multiple images. Just saying as a last ditch effort.

Oh come ON, it's not fanservice if it's in the book--and Jacob DID take his shirt off in the book to dab her head! hell, as you noted in the recap of the book, he is constantly going around shirtless, and you wondered if that'd be in the movie....

The real fanservice was inserting visual manifestations of RPattz into the movie....though I suppose it upped the sparkly lulz!

See, to me it was fanservice because he didn't just take off his shirt like a normal guy; he had to reach up and stretch out and do that sort of male stripper pose, you know? The same way the attempted sparklecide wasn't fanservice, but making sure Edward's robe/cloak was open for the next fifteen minutes was. There's a point where whichever guy is holding him by the throat and it's literally like, okay, pull him back as far as you can so we get the full abdominal panorama, this is what we pay him for.

Okay, I see what you mean....and probably Smeyer writing in so much gratuitous chest porn was fanservice anyway in the first place!

She really did--I can't count how many times Bella gets fixated on Edward's chest and whatever tightly-fitting shirt he's wearing at the time. This is not even to speak of the first time she goes hunting and he gives her his shirt and she can barely think straight for the next ten pages.

Hm. It's a bit heavy... I could pull a frame, maybe? (What's that from, the Comic-Con clip?)

(Unlurk!)

Ah, I was going to be all like, 'Hi, useful lurker with pictures here!' but then people beat me to it sooo... Not-useful lurker here saying hi and that your Twilight recaps and all the Movies in Fifteen minutes have been some of the best things I've read in like...forever and a day. Still trying to get my hands on a copy of the book before Christmas...

And I'll have to appropriate any screenshots of that scene (since I can't find any)...for science. Totally.

(Relurk!)

Wait, wait, do you have a good one? Because so far no one's turned up exactly what I need, if you have a really good quality one.
