I'm glad your enjoying it and finding it intriguing. Dawn is such a mysterious figure given her origins and I kinda fall in the camp of fans that like stories where Dawn's sense of self and identity, or other people's perceptions of her, is really hazy. I also really wanted to do a fic with her and Spike again. Writing "Little Lost Lamb" was a blast and I wanted to relive the feeling and the dynamic these two have when they're playing off each other. However, her role is mostly over. On to the Spuffy next chapter. I don't think I have to tell you that ain't gonna be paradise ;)

This was written at the same time as The Heart of Her. I actually got a Fang Fetish award for it last round for Best Short Story. Anyway, pretty dark, but sort of hopeful. My take on Spawn. Enjoy!

There are some things here I've never seen before. The concept of Spike and this..."half" Shanshu along with Dawn and her breaking down presents a double whammy on this poor household.

Dawn whirled on him, her kohl-darkened eyes wide and frantic. “And why not!? Why do you…why do you let me…” This is one of those questions that has no right answer, but Spike, of course, has a perfect reply...

“You’re your own woman now. Not my place to say what lucky bloke gets the honor of a suck job from you. None of my business.”

A very intriguing start. I'll be looking forward to more!

Wow, so I get points for some originality? Sweet! Glad you're finding this 'verse an intriguing one. The obstacles they are facing are hard ones, and they're not ones they can "fight." It's a terrible thing to feel helpless, not all there, and completely out of control. This change obviously has drastically effected Spike, which will become more obvious next chapter when we see how this has played out with Buffy.

Glad you liked that exchange between Dawn and Spike. I think my fav scene in the fic is the blowjob bit. It says a lot about both of them, in overt and nuanced ways. More soonish and thanks for commenting!

I didn't remember that you did, but since I've read all of your stuff at some point I've probably fallen across it.

Something that has been eating at me for awhile is this...
My fav fic of yours is probably Disenchantment. I could have sworn there was a short one-shot you wrote as a sequel in which Buffy and Spike are in an elevator, she's a few months pregnant, and there's this raunchy possessive sex scene with a bunch of vamps watching. I could be insane and that was a story by someone else, but I could have sworn it was yours. When I looked on buggerthis I couldn't find it, which made me doubt myself. Please dispel the mystery!

Is this the manip for Why Won't You Go? Yay! Since the spanky-ness with the spatula should be sort of like what we see in the fic, there shouldn't be much skin except for Buffy's butt, since her pants are pulled down. So, I guess that would be worksafe?

If you can't find any bases that match up, use your own creative judgement. You've read the fic and I bet you have a vision. So if it's more than just arse on Buffy, I'll take it! Still, it would be weird to have her completely naked...what with being in the kitchen and all. And you know, Dawn walking in. *awkward moment*
