Thanks for the birthday wishes, dahlink! The day's still young, out here! Festivities are still in the future.

The main fic I can think of with menses is Herself's Bittersweets, where it's an on-going and natural part of life. I know there's at least two others, but my link organization...isn't. I think it's an amazing way to go at the whole "vampire" orientation.

When I was college, I did a whole unit on purity and pollution and, of course, menstruation and all its associated taboos were front and center. I dont think I was as pissed off about any other issue of gender, femininity and bodily function as I was about the attitudes (specifically religious) and cultural "protectives" that were created to marginalize and control the process

The very first chapter of "Where They Have to Take You In" is the once I always think about, where Spike and Buffy are having marital problems, but the menstruation has been a constant link for them.

I ran across a Spike/Tara fic that involved menstrual blood, but it was over a year ago and I haven't the foggiest where I saw it. Sorry.

No worries :)

I came up with a not-too-shabby list last night of about 18 fics. There were a few more I found, but were so unapologetically PWP with poor characterization and nothing of interest that I left them off. Will post shortly. Though who knows if anyone will see it. Weekend = land of dead LJ.
