WORD about Twilight. I honestly gave it a shot when all this hooplah was starting, and I couldn't get through it. I saw the movies because, well, how can you not. >___> I'm seeing The Runaways tomorrow, though, talking of K-Stew. ;)
Oooo, how was The Runaways? That'll be a Netflix rental for me (already in my "Saved" queue!), but only because I'm trying to cut back on my cinema ventures, after seeing 36 theatrical releases in 2006.
I only saw 27 in 2009, so I'm quite proud of myself for exercising restraint, a little at a time. :-)
People always love this icon. :D I think it captures the spirit of the series so well, no?
...Yeah, 36 is, like, a normal month for me, ha ha. But that's because I don't have a life...or restraint. Ever. The Runaways wasn't fabulous--it wandered a lot and was too much about Cherie Currie--but it was quite worth it for Michael Shannon and, actually, K-Stew. She's a LOT more comfortable in the role than she is as Bella (she doesn't touch her hair or bite her lip, like, at all) and she just totally got the swagger and the 'tude and everything. It was awesome. I was impressed. And yay, Date Night looks hilarious...but I admit I'm seeing Clash of the Titans this weekend. :D
I picked up a a book called "Committed" by the same lady who wrote "Eat Pray Love" (which I haven't read) & I'm 3-4 pages in...already feeling like I just don't *get* her at all.
"Eat Pray Love" is sitting on my bookshelf, waiting for its turn, but I'm not feelin' it. It was rumoured that Elizabeth Gilbert was already an established author and was given an advance to write about her adventures?
I don't know if that's true, but it certainly lowers my "what a plucky gal!" opinion. I'm still looking forward to the film adaptation though.
I also find books that use slang and jargon generally make me crazy because it takes too long for me to 'translate'. And it's so funny we are totally opposite in our feelings of Twilight! I will not watch the movies because the characters I have in my head are way hotter than the people they got to play them, especially Edward. Kristen Stewart was great in the movie Zathura (sp?) but she has an edgy look to her that I do not picture my Bella having. Sounds weird I know but the Twilight series was fun for me to read since it was easy and required no thought whatsoever aside from dreamy sparkly vampire dude. =)

I enjoyed them, I guess, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.

HE READ ALL FOUR BOOKS IN A WEEK.
He took great delight in giving me a plot play-by-play of the final book, Breaking Dawn which apparently has lots of WTF moments. ;-)

Ah well! Thank goodness for the public library.

(I like that my icon of Corey Haim also includes Corey Feldman. xoxo.)

That's a great movie! I also watch Jumanji (same plot) whenever it is on television.
OBVIOUSLY I JUST WANT MY BOARD GAMES TO COME TO LIFE. :-)
