If you're looking for a toy for adults then this CO2 pistol is it.

The size is supposedly on spec with an actual Peacemaker while the gun is mostly steel, meaning that while the weight isn't quite exact, it has enough heft to it that it feels legit, in fact, you actually have to inspect the thing to realize that you're holding a pellet pistol.

The true toy aspect of this gun is that it has these chromed "bullets" which you insert a .177 caliber pellet into the base of and then side load into the cylinder just like the actual Peacemaker.

You can leave them in place and load them that way, but that takes away some of the fun, plus, I've found that it's easier to simply lay out a bunch of pellets and then press the "bullets" down onto them to load them.

Since it uses standard 12 gram CO2 cartridges it's not a high powered, drop a coon or groundhog with it pellet pistol, but it can perforate a soda can at 30 feet and while it won't spin a .22 caliber metal target, it'll give you a nice "ding" to let you know you hit it.

The sights are pretty low and minimal but it's accurate enough once you get used to it and the single action only trigger system is light and clean.

There's also a safety in front of the trigger guard, although the single action only design means that so long as you're at halfcock and keep your finger off the trigger you should be fine.

In addition to being a beautiful display piece and fun can killer, I would also say that this could make an excellent gun to train a child or first time shooter on since the "bullets" and heft make it feel less like a toy and more like you're using a real gun, but there's no recoil, barely any noise and far less potential for someone to get hurt.

I've read that the velocity is 300-400 fps so it should be safe to shoot indoors if proper precautions are taken to trap the pellets.

Finally, because it doesn't look like a toy, should you be in a situation where you need something to defend your home but can't afford/legal own a real gun, were you to point this at a criminal at 3am I'm willing to bet he would mistake it for a real revolver and since anywhere from two thirds to three quarters of self-defense situations do not require the victim to discharge the firearm, this could be sufficient to force an intruder to retreat.

But ideally, if you're getting this plinker it's because you want a treat for yourself and having cycled a few dozen pellets through it in my backyard, I'm quite happy with it and looking forward to sharing with friends and their kids for next Saturday's pool party.
