Actually I just read that letting them stand (when they've naturally figured it out themselves, like Kay) won't cause bowleggedness. I can try to find the source for more info, if you'd like :) That video is so adorable, btw...how old is she now? Cruising's gonna be just round the corner it seems! XD

could you? that would really settle my nerves... ^_^;; she's now 27 weeks, so a little over 6 months old. she's already learned how to crawl, but she "inches" her way around more than she actually "crawls". you know? i want her to crawl more though... thanks!! :)

Yay, I found it!

OK, so here it is, from What To Expect The First Year by Heidi Murkoff, Arlene Eisenberg, and Sandee Hathaway, B.S.N. (Page 295):

"My baby likes to 'stand' on my lap. She cries if I make her sit down. But I've heard that standing early can make her bowlegged."

Babies usually know what they're ready for better than anyone else. And many baby's your daughter's age are ready and eager for supported "standing". It's fun, it's good muscle-building exercise, it's an exciting change from lying n her back or slumping in an infant seat - and it certainly does not cause bowleggedness.

On th other hand, any baby who doesn't want to stand shouldn't be pushed into doing so until she's ready. A baby who's allowed to set her own developmental pace will be happier and healthier than one whose parents try to set it for her.

Hope that helps!! :D

well, according to my relatives, a baby's suppose to crawl around 8 months and start walking around 10-11 months. then again, all babies vary. she's already learned how to crawl, but she's no speedy gonzales, ya know?

yea, a lot of kids seem to jump right to walking. my cousin was like that too. i want her to crawl more though. it's supposedly good for her motor skills, coordination and helps her development more... or that's what my people say here...
