It's been a rough year - the man got cancer, so it's been a rough road of surgery and treatment, but so far so good. Oh, and I finally got my PhD. ^__^

So great to hear from you again! Congratulations on the new house, though I'm so sorry about your job loss. Applying for disability does sound like it may be best in the long run. :/ (And I do hate how job ads micro-specialize! I've missed out on some opportunities because I didn't know every single one of the programs they needed. >.<)

It was 6 days before my birthday and all I could think was "B.b..but my birthday's next week?!". I really tried to look at it as an adventure. That lasted about 2 weeks then reality set in. :)
