I thought of you yesterday when I was at the farmer's market: there were little containers of heirloom tomatoes (tiny black ones and striped green ones) and I imagined you frolicking around in delight around them. :)
It's not that I'm particularly fond of raw tomatoes, but that I'm trying to learn to like them. It's this business of putting unnecessary peppers in canned tomato goods, you see. And salsa, well it's pretty pointless to me.
Most of the smaller ones will become sundried tomatoes in the solar oven, whenever they decide to ripen. And the zapotec are omfgamazing for sauce. Slowly I'm getting the hang of tomato varieties. (The tiny black ones sound adorable though!)
Peppers in tomato goods? are you serious?? ARRGHH.
I like raw tomatoes, especially the wee ones that go "pop" when I eat them. Also, I had a sundried tomato pesto the other day that was omgincredible. If I can find the recipe, I shall pass it on. xo
