On second thought, no I don't think I can be bothered to kill the poison ivy or trim back the exceedingly pointy blackberry bramble at the end of the garden. Once the noisy and obnoxious neighbors (and their visiting relatives here for the holiday) learn not to go barging into other people's gardens, trampling plants left and right in their attempt ( Read more... )

Do you want some Scottish style thistle seeds? Mine are just coming into flower (pretty pink/purple) and seed.

Thanks for the offer but no. Blackberry canes have backwards curving thorns like roses, so once you're snagged you have to be drawn further into the bramble to extricate yourself. Which is exactly where the poison ivy lies in wait.

It's an insidious arrangement, and I didn't even have to do anything to make it happen.
