Claudine entered Merlotte's and immediately noticed how crowded it was. While she enjoyed human attention, she didn't enjoy being packed among them. Reminding herself that she wasn't here to have fun but to keep an eye on her charge, Claudine shook her head slightly to remove the hair from her eye and headed towards the bar ( ... )

While making her rounds, Sookie noticed a rather exotic and striking woman come in to the bar and take a seat. She had a strange air about her that seemed to draw all eyes, men and women alike. But, the woman seemed to barely take notice of this.

She placed a beer on a table and passed the woman, who suddenly touched her on the back. She felt a warm sensation go through her, which caused her to stop short, tray still in hand. She furrowed her brows as she looked at the strange woman who did nothing but smile at her knowingly as she headed for a table in her section.

Sookie opened her mouth to complain, but suddenly she felt lighter and airier. The tiredness in her legs and feet seemed to have drained away.

She marched over to the woman, a slight skip in walk due to her sudden rejuvenation. Realizing that now most of the eyes in the bar were on them, she lowered her voice, "What the hell did you just do to me?" she asked, quickly adding, "Ma'am."

Claudine smiled at her charge, "Pardon me? I'm afraid I don't understand the question. I simply touched your back so that I wouldn't trip you when you walked past."

Sookie was a clever girl and very straight forward, she would have to remember that her young charge was unafraid. A part of her admired the young woman for her courage but it also concerned her as Sookie could put herself into a lot of danger if she always demanded answers from supernatural beings. There were so many who would take offense at being asked their nature so directly. The fairy prince would be most displeased if she were to fail in her mission.

"I promise that I meant no harm. I simply appreciate good service and Sam speaks very highly of you. If you ask him, you'll find that we're old friends and I'm mostly harmless," she reassured with a chuckle and another warm smile.

It had been an odd day at work for Alcide, though not worse than others; nor had it been particularly difficult. Simply - odd. And he couldn't quite put his finger on it. So he decided to randomly stop his van by the first diner he saw open, and get inside to have a bite (!) and something to drink. He thought, oddly again, that he would enjoy some company as well.

He entered Merlotte's after finding a parking spot quite easily - there weren't too many customers there tonight, apparently. Quite an appearance he was, and completely unaware of it: he wore a black t-shirt, quite tight over his sculpted torso, and a pair of simple blue jeans, worn-out at the knees and ruffled at the ankles.

Finding a free table, he sat down without looking around and grabbed the menu immediately. He was feeling quite hungry, actually.

As she filled some glasses of beer for a table of her brother's friends, she spotted an unfamiliar face come into the bar. There seemed to be a lot of those lately. Of course, she didn't mind, considering his appearance. Sookie, not having much experience in the guy department, despite the few kisses she'd shared with a vampire, found her eyes lingering on him as he scanned the menu ( ... )

Alcide looked up and managed to control his facial muscles very well, taken his lever of tiredness. "Why hello there," he said in a friendly, warm voice - it was the best he could manage. OK, the girl -- woman -- was very pretty; as in, very. But then again, he, well - for the moment, he was better off without complicating his life any further.

Yet there was something extremely intriguing about her -- he read her tag -- "Sookie, am I right? Well, hello again. It's nice to try a new place, too. Let's see, could I have something to eat too, or am I looking too dreadful for the cook to help me?"
