A quick update. I hope you're all safe and well!

I've been so caught up in LIFE for a very long time that I didn't come here until now... and I have lots of things to report to you.

1. Samantha, the guinea pig in my icon, has gone to the guinea pig paradise and reunited with Deanna there, I hope. She stopped eating and drinking yesterday, and went to an eternal sleep sometime in the midnight. She ( Read more... )

Thank you so much for the update! Sorry about the loss of your Guinea pig. Relieved to read that you and your family are healthy, and I hope you stay that way! It is tragic when the government responds so poorly to a crisis and as you say, puts profit above the welfare of its people. We have so much of that here too with the healthcare industry.

I have been very nostalgic for the early days of spn fandom lately and was recently going through your artworks! If I haven’t mentioned it lately, let me say it here: you rock!

All the best, and belatedly, Happy New Year. <3

I miss that time, too. After I graduated life just got so busy, and I haven't watched the show after S14. Now I spend 2 or 3 hours every day dancing... which keeps me healthy and happy :) I'm going to get some mirrors in the house so that next time we can't go out, we can dance and exercise together at home.
I don't know when this will end. If it won't get better after Feb 8th, more strict measures will come and that brings no comfort. I miss my friends and I worry about them so much.
Get some stock of masks, alcohol, and other things for sterilization. You may need them. They ran out of stock here, and masks are hard to purchase even in Japan... I hope this epidemic won't come to you <333

I'm sorry to hear that Samantha is gone, though it sounds as if you made her comfortable and did the best thing for her.

Stay safe in Wuhan - I didn't know you lived there. We have a few cases of the virus here, but it's nothing compared to China. I also lived through the SARS epidemic in 2003, and see a lot of the same negative behavior from that time rising again (racism, hysteria etc.). For those in countries only slightly affected by this outbreak, we're fighting a battle against ignorance and misinformation instead. Take care of your family as best you can, and let us know how you're doing. People in other places worry about you!

Today I heard that the PLA may take over in a few days, and if that happens we can't go out anymore until the virus goes away, and the PLA will deliver the necessities to households every day, which is pretty depressing...
Right now despite all the facilities the government build to treat the patients in severe conditions and to quarantine those who are infected, we are left on our own. If we get through this without a scratch, I'll thank god because he really loves us.
Get masks and sanitation goods when you can. You may need them.

Oh sad you've lost both your wee piggies! I'm sure your Sam will share a piggie heaven with Deanna - I mean, they have to be soul mates, right?

I'm also sorry you and your family are stuck in the middle of the quarantine zone, it must be scary to experience this crisis up close. I hope nobody close to you gets infected. If it spreads here I'll be worried about my Mum and my aunty, mostly, since they both suffer from bad asthma. The whole mask-wearing thing is very unfamiliar to us here, so that will be interesting if the virus does gain a foothold.

Let's hope we all stay healthy!
Do keep in touch xx

Please get masks and sanitation goods and stock them as much as possible right now. If UK is spared this time, you may still need them in the future. My friends and I are going to learn how to swim after this, because maybe one day the whole city will be under sea water, with the global warming, who knows...

I did actually buy a couple of masks because I'm going to see my Mum in a week or so and was thinking I'll take one for her. They are ones with replaceable filters.
As for global warming - unless all our governments start taking it seriously now, water-wings will be in order!

It's wonderful to hear from you, even if your news is sad. I'm so sorry about both your piggies, but they had beautiful piggie lives with you. How scary to be in the middle of a quarrantine. I'm sure all of us on LJ, as well as everywhere, wish you and your family continued health and a recovery as quickly as possible for the region. Keep us informed when you can.
