Good morning from the Netherlands! I enjoyed watching all those beautiful pictures you took! One of my greatest wishes is visiting Japan. But first I want to learn the language. I just started with hiragana. I also want to learn more about Japan: history, culture,...
I hope you had a nice sunday. Here in the Netherlands it's almost eight o'clock in the morning. The weather is gray and the wind is cold.
Hello ^-^ I suppose Germany and the Netherlands are in the same time zone :D Can't speak Dutch, but understand it partly when I read it as it's sometimes quite close to German ^-^ Definitely wanna visit the Netherlands when I'm back in Europe.
Ich mag deien Bilder immer total! =D Dummerweise denke ich bei den meisten Fotos nur "Ich will auch dahin!" und weiß aber, dass ich das in der nächsten Zeit nicht hinkriegen werde. xD
Did you tell the people at the ninja place that you didn't need it? When I went on a tour around one of the houses of parliament in Tokyo, I went with one of my Japanese friends and they asked her if I could speak Japanese or not (I don't know why they didn't ask me... that happens a lot!). She said yes. Then they asked me. I said yes. Then they said, oh well you won't be able to understand the Japanese so you should take this English audio guide, and I said, no, I can understand Japanese, I don't need it... and then they kept on trying to make me take it, it was really weird. After telling them about 10 times that I really didn't need it they finally accepted that I didn't. And I understood the tour perfectly.
Because I made the reservation in Japanese, I talked to them in Japanese only and they talked to me in Japanese only and so I just thought they might have figured out that my Japanese would be good enough?! I guess they just wanted to be polite or whatever XD
I know! -___- Happened to me a lot, too. No idea why they do that sometimes XD
I love those beautiful everything stuffs pictures you took. <3 Cute cats. xD cool loop bus. xD foods. *o* Thanks for sharing with your trip of photos. xD
what are those yellow things that look like you could make a tipi out of them if you have a large piece of cloth to cover them?
I wonder how people will treat me in Japan with respect to lingual ability btw. I often find myself in situations where chinese people think i'm chinese, and japanese people think I have japanese relatives etc. it's quite funny.. I guess i really look asian hahaha..
That's a good question. I can't remember if they have those only in winter (maybe to protect plants?!) ... hmmm.
People who look Asian and can't speak Japanese are SOMETIMES treated like idiots OR not very friendly as some Japanese people do not like Chinese or Korean people (and they suppose you are one of those if you look Asian but can't speak Japanese). I experienced that, too, when I walked around town with a Japanese-American who couldn't speak a word of Japanese....
i've read such a story too.. and then this japanese dude told that asian guy that he mustn't lose against his caucasian friend in terms of japanese speaking ability etc. it was kinda lame hahaha.,.
