Bad news for Lie to Me *sob*

Dec 07, 2010 21:24

Well, damn. Fox isn't picking up the back nine for Lie to Me. I know that the rating have been, shall we say, modest, but I did hope that there would be a full season 3! All the reports say that it's not completely over yet (since Lie to Me was already scheduled to go on hiatus in the spring) but not to get our hopes up for any future episodes. I ( Read more... )

Aw, man... I don't faithfully watch "Lie to Me," but I like to tune in when I can catch it.

And Amazon's free shipping SUCKS lately. I preordered Doctor Who series 5, and ended up receiving it a week after it came out in stores. What's the point of preorders if you can't even get something on time?!

What? Why now, I'm not bitter.

A couple of months ago I would have been 'Lie to Me, what's that?' and 'Tim Roth, who's that?' I've learned the answers to both of those questions just in time for Fox to pull the rug out on me!

I just checked my order again and the damn thing FINALLY shipped! I placed it on Nov. 24 and it shipped today. WTF? Two full weeks is a serious penalty for going with their free shipping. Obviously they don't want anyone to use it. Three of the items I orders are xmas presents so I'm glad I didn't wait any longer to order them.

I am so not in love with Fox right now. Raising Hope got picked up by the skin of its teeth and Running Wilde is basically done for even though I love it and it's full of A-list talent. Fox is famous for not giving good shows a chance: Arrested Development, Firefly, etc.

Fox has this weird combo of putting very off beat and different shows on the air and then yanking the rug out on them because they are not ratings winners. Of course they're not! They're off beat and different!

This is when the British model appeals. You may not get a lot of episodes but each series of a show gets a proper arc and an ending. And you'll see ALL the episodes that they made instead of having the show disappear with several episodes to go.

Like i said, Fox likes to screw people over who have been faithful fans of their shows.

They do have that reputation! Though the other networks do it too. I'm still upset about Life (on NBC) and Pushing Daisies (on ABC).

That's a very sad icon! The lowest I have is tired!Doctor. I've decided that I'm going to just continue enjoying season 2 and watch whatever there is of season 3 when I get to it. And by then we might have a final decision on the show. At least it wasn't canceled 5 episodes in like some shows I've loved!

I just hope, as you said, that they don't leave us hanging at the end. I hate when that happens

They had to know that a pick up was far from assured! *crosses fingers*

I confess, I've not caught up with S3 yet. I used to love the show and would happily have watched Tim Roth bounce around till the cows came home... and then something went wrong. Around the middle of S2 the emphasis of the show changed and somewhere along the line, Cal started to behave like a complete thug. Now, there were times when I loved that - but when it started to happen every week, it took something away from the character, I think. Also - much as I love TR, his physical mannerisms and twitches were becoming so exaggerated, I was finding it difficult to watch him :(

In short. Woe.

Mind you, it's not just Fox that does this, is it? A few years back friends and I were raging against NBC for similar reasons. It seems the best shows are being made now by the cable networks.

Apart from Fringe of course, which continues to be awesome :)

I've heard things that make me nervous for season 3! Right now I'm deeply in love with show and I would like to continue. I'm thinking that as I move into later s2 and s3 I might want to not read other people's opinions so that I'm not swayed. Unless of course I don't like it either. *g* Then I'll focus on my love for the first two seasons.

No, it's not just Fox. They just have the worst reputation among fandom types. NBC killed Life after all!

I could not get into Fringe and I tried. I think that the show is just not for me. I hope they don't cancel it on you though!
