-2- Action

[Rubi woke up late at night thanks to the heavy rain. It didn't bother him, it was just a presence that he couldn't ignore. After going about his morning routines in the forest (changing his clothes, eating something, and some practice with his bow), he decided it would be best to stock up on supplies. Plus...with the heavy rainfall, he hoped that ( Read more... )

[This one needs to get out even more than Rubi does, seriously.

But anyway, there is a rather strange man headed towards the library. Well, he actually looks reasonably normal, except he's got an umbrella and is very absorbed in what he's reading. It also doesn't exactly look like a simple book, since it's rather thick and the print is small from what can be seen. Definitely a scholar type of person, give him a set of glasses and he'd definitely fit the nerd stereotype very well.

He's not paying any attention at all to anything besides the book. In fact he may well end up tripping over something, or unintentionally get into Rubi's way, or even run into him. Who really can tell?

So will the two very not sociable types actually speak to each other? Hard to say really.]

[A man walking with a book like that definitely got Rubi to at least look, even if he didn't have any intention of saying anything. There were strange people in this place; nothing like the humans he'd spent a long time with, and nothing like the elves he currently lived with.

But he sees a log or some sort of other obstacle, and he's going to try and warn Balir before it's too late. Only, Rubi's not loud or anything.]

Watch where you're walking.

[And oddly, he can hear Rubi just fine. For all that he's not paying attention, he does a really good job dodging.]

Thanks for the warning.

It'd be a shame if that book got ruined, wouldn't it?

-She's out and about with her umbrella and a simple kimono when she spots Rubi. There's a pleasant smile on her face.-

Fancy seeing you about.

-There's a bit of a smirk on Rubi's, but that's more or less the same thing.-

I was wondering when I'd see you.

I didn't think I was anyone you particularly wanted to see, being a human.

I don't recall saying I wanted to see you.

[Rubi. Doesn't even. What is that blue/brown thing doing? Having a seizure?]

.......Is something wrong?

[He actually has a few things, but not much. Just some bread and assorted fruit...and he's wearing a new jacket, just like one he had back home. He recognizes Lazlo, of course, but he's going to redirect the conversation.]

Depends on if you know a runemaster or not.

[Well, as reliable as Hix was when it came to retrieving their belongings from the shops, one thing that Tengaar wasn't comfortable letting him do was well, retrieving her own clothes. A girl must have some boundaries, y'see.

However, since she pretty much lacks anything else to wear meanwhile, she'd borrowed a coat that Hix had picked up, and has just run into the clothes shop from the rain outside.]

Brr, that's cold.

[And here Rubi had been hoping to be in the clothes shop alo--oh, wait. He knows that girl. In a very rare moment of charity, Rubi will actually greet her.

Oh, wait, no, he's just going to mock her.]

I guess they only teach the men of the Warrior's Village to deal with rain, then?

[A familiar voice! And an even more familiar face. Tengaar'll greet Rubi with a smile.]

I guess the women are just smart enough to seek cover at the first sign of rain.

Haven't seen you in three years, Mr Rubi.

[Rubi's going to smile at that--he wasn't expecting some wit.]

True enough. Some of us prefer living out in the forest, though.

...It's been three years for you?
