we did it in one day, but we were staying madras for the weekend. i wouldn't make it a day trip from portland.

Those are gorgeous pictures!

The rabbit is up top in the middle of the frame just sitting there, right?

I spent the weekend at the Blues Festival, but I think I would have rather have been in the Painted Hills after seeing these shots.

well, we stayed in madras, so it was less than an hour. according to mapquest, troutdale to mitchell is ~3.5 hours.
