I spent 11.5 hours at the Catholic Church this week, despite not being Catholic. That's right. And yeah, I blew off both of the churches I actually belong to for Easter Sunday. I'm not in choir at the Lutheran one, and the Mormon choir did one song (this ward doesn't seem to really get into Easter, although my last one did much more), whereas ( Read more... )

Not that I expect you to switch, but my understanding is that the Episcopalians have all the pomp and circumstance of the Catholics, but with more progressive theology, including women in public leadership.

Except the music isn't as good! :) (Well. I fully recognize that this does not have to be the case, but it's the case around here. And actually, this particular Catholic church is the only one of four in the area that still does the good old polyphonic stuff.) I do like the pomp and circumstance, though. I think it's fascinating, probably because of not having grown up with anything like it at all.

You're more FB these days, right? I suppose I could make it there at some point, although knowing me, probably not until everyone has migrated to the next social media platform...

Never having attended a service at a Catholic church _or_ an Episcopal church, I can't compare them well. :)

Yeah, what time I manage to spend on social media gets devoured by FB these days. I don't spend as much time there as I have at some times in the past, though. Work is crazy.
