I'd love to be a part of #5, and I wish you the best of luck with #10, especially because you seem like the sort of person who can very much pull that off.
For me, daily word count works better. That's why Nanowrimo was the kick in the pants I needed. Because it sets a goal for the month (50,000), and then breaks it down into a daily goal (1776-ish, I think).
I'd love to come for a Shabbat dinner. With JD and Joy, of course. Also we've got a friend who lives a block or so away from you who is also thinking about having regular shabbat dinners (perhaps even starting up the Harlem Havurah again...)
Maybe that will get *us* motivated to get organized enough to be able to host people ourselves :-)
Amazingly, when I went to Town & Village (way down-and-across at 14th & 1st) this past Fri night, the guy leading services turned out to ALSO live one block away from us! They used to live near T&V, but bought up here last year when they had a kid. I'm hoping we can occasionally carpool (subway-pool?).
9. Establish a partnership with the shared goal of having a family
Me too. It may or may not be with garote, but that is not important. I agree with you that what is important is actually stating the goal, and putting one's real intention behind it.
I wish you luck and dedication, both to your heart and your goal. <3
