But I now have the lovely mirror I bought last year up, and my new, slightly ridiculous, pink cupid hooks, courtesy of papa Stone. I also put up a couple of my pictures, and it’s all starting to feel more ( Read more... )

If I get myself on the first train out of Vauxhall after the end of work then I can get to Mortlake for 6.15. Though I will get straight off one train and change platforms and get back on the next. If this would help?

Yes please as to the Puffiny input. Otherwise the Brownies will either be starved or will explode from a superabundance of food. And neither would be good...

Possibly I can come out to Mortlake to help escort the Guides. It may be that I bop out to Richmond in the afternoon & amuse myself & then come along to do the escorting because of the immense woe of commuter trains...

Could you set up a specific thingy to force your parentals into coming to visit. Propose to Katie & invite your parents to the engagement party?

Is there space for any red among the spots?

My parentals never visit, either, or only once in a blue moon. I think I could count on the fingers of one hand the times they've been to this flat.

I know why - it's not that they hate me, or that they're old, or anything - it's because my grandmother lived too long and was always round at theirs. So they don't like to come and see us, no matter how much we beg. My mother said once, "If your daughter cleans the sink, she's being helpful - if your mother does it, she's criticising your housekeeping!" So true... I don't visit thyme_slimy without a specific invitation, for that very reason. Different when she was living where we drove past the door once a month - if convenient, we called in for ten minutes - but now she doesn't....
