So, lots of pain. I'm normally in pain, but this is ridiculous. I woke up today with a migraine as well. My body is not taking well to the extra stress. My body is not holding food very well, and fyi (tmi), I'm not throwing up.

The added layer of Princess having been my parent's cat, is really driving home their absence. I can't really express how ( Read more... )

Your recent accident has done NOTHING to prove to me that the insurance industry is functioning in any sane manner. :|

at least not directly. indirectly, sure, the more people who abuse the system, the more we all pay, in the overall rate increase that is spread out with all policy holders.

but strictly speaking about how a particular individual's rates are affected, the fact that the 3rd party is now claiming personal injury is of no consequence. you have an at-fault accident already, simply because as you say, this is the guy you hit. the at-fault would be part of the rate-determination alogorithm. The total cost of the claim is not directly reflected in your premium increase. so whether the total claim costs your insurer $1000 or $1 million bucks, your rate increase is the same based on the at-fault determination, you're not directly penalized for a more expensive claim. at least that's how that works here.

I got my rate in the mail last week. I lost an entire car in 2001 and my rate went up a bit. This time my rate went up a little over 80 bucks a month I'm very very disappointed. I'm armed with a quote for much less. See if they budge.

Also... Hi! Somehow this entry got set to public. No matter. Nice to have a visitor. Also, I'm from near Hamilton. I had friends who lived in chalk river and friends who live in blind river. But currently I don't know where deep river is, so when I hit send I'll look it up.
