We picked up Sam today :) He's a tiny, cute & soft little kitten. He wasn't frightened or nervous at all. He began exploring the house as soon as I opened the travel cage and within the hour he was enthousiastically playing with his new mouse. Now he's asleep on the couch right next to me :)

My father's birthday was good. We went cycling through green, sunny holland (yes I got burned) and then had dinner in an old waterlinie-fort. Only sad thing was that all those pretty flowers gave Rutger a nasty case of hay fever, so he couldn't enjoy the day much. Then we played Carcassonne until deep in the night :D ( Read more... )

So Portugal was really nice. So very sunny it gave me a little sun allergy (despite all precautions!)
And Lisboa, well :) It is hard to explain why, but I love that city. Maybe it is the sense that you're breathing history, an almost tangible melancholy. (Yes, beautiful tragedy...)

I know I'll be wanting to go back next spring. And maybe we will :
