Added back the people I wanted and seems to have accepted them now so shall have to see if they add me back. I'm quite unsure of the etiquette of this, is it acceptable to just friend random people or is this rude

I think that's one major thing about LJ- you can poke around and make all sorts of neat contacts and friends as there are so many people out there who share interests with others. I see you've added me :) I added you..

Heh, family tech support is sucky. Thankfully I really only have to support my mom and dad, and the way I set things up is so stable that they rarely need to turn to me unless something is seriously screwed up.
