Well..that was fun.

He arrives much the way he went out, at least from his perspective. Light, burning, pain. Still he doesn't cry out and as the effects begin to wear off and his vision clears finds himself not exactly where he expected. The only telling sign of what he's just endured is a scorched hole in his shirt and a large burn on his chest, remnants of the ( Read more... )

If he's in a hallway of the Mansion, he might spot a small face with large brown eyes peeking around a corner at him before the figure it belongs to steps out and approaches him. It's a brown-hared young boy, perhaps about thirteen but small and slight for his age.

"Are you all right, mister?" he asks, his voice rather high-pitched but with the slightest bit of a crack in it.

If Spike can sense this sort of thing, he might detect a kinship in the little fellow.

As he is slightly distracted by the somewhat gaping hole in his chest he doesn't look up immediately when he does he can't help but be a bit confused as to where this kid came from. Rather than ask he just answers. "Be alright, had worse. Just a little shocked 's all. So-- am I dead, well-- deader, or what?"

"I don't think so, but you might be," the little guy says. "I kind of died before I got here. But I don't think this is heaven." He's trying not to stare too hard at the hole in Spike's chest.

Noticing the boy staring at his chest he pulls his duster closer around him, glad it hadn't been incinerated when he'd-- whatever he'd done. He definitely didn't feel all dead. "If it's not heaven then it could be any number of things. Hell dimension's damn likely in which case my trusting you would be a bad move on my part."

Here's someone who'll give Spike a huge case of mistaken identity.

"I think the majority of us are still asking that question. Blasted magic, all I know. I loathe it." The king shakes his head as he sips his drink in the sitting room. Uther needs to take the edge off his troubles pretty much every night these days.

Hearing the familiar voice caused him to wonder if he actually is in hell and the kid was wrong. When his eyes land on him he almost sure of it.

"Never known you to hate magic, Watcher. In fact if I recall you were pretty deep into it for a while."

Eying him up and down he can't help but be a bit thrown off, but at the moment he can't quite place why.

"That was before I realized its true danger, its true evil. I am wiser now. I do not know how you appear to know me." He looked Spike up and down too. "I have never seen you before. And why do you call me 'watcher'?

(ooc sorry, got busy and now having PC issues. Replying when I can)

Honestly he thinks he's playing a game with him, or more truthfully that this must be hell dimension must be playing with him. Of all people to be stuck with. "Because you watch things-- slayers, namely. Though to be honest you really did lose your touch as you got older, with the watching and the magic."

(No worries! It's a fun game, I will not eat you for not replying RIGHTSTATNAO. :P)

Perhaps have a person that has slayer potential, but certainly was no motivation. Eda will be in the kitchen, skimpily clothed, smoking and reading an old magazine.

Perhaps she needs someone to talk to.

It's later that he enters the kitchen, more than a little frustrated and still sporting the rather unattractive burn mark on his chest. He is about to rifle through the cupboards and the fridge in hope of finding something when he spots the woman at the table. He gives her a small, guarded but polite smile and a little nod.

"Good Evenin'." Eda utters, friendly and with a little wave.

"Not my best. I'd reckon yours might be going a bit better than mine. Hope so, anyway." He takes a moment to poke in the fridge but is disappointed when he finds nothing.

There's another white-haired pretty boy with vampiric tendencies about the Mansion, only this one can venture out into the daylight (with a little SPF 90) and he prefers a white trenchcoat to a black duster. Should Spike venture into a dark corner of the library, he should find a pale gentleman, leaning over a table, poring over one of several thick books and muttering to himself.

He's still in search of food and a place to rest, but he's wearing down. He stumbles into the library and half-growls to himself when he finds someone reading books instead of a bed. "Seems to be a fair amount of people in this place, but a lack of anywhere to get some bloody rest."

It's not directed at the boy in particular. He's just not feeling very well at this point.

"No rest for the wicked, or so they say," says the tall, pale man, straightening up from his reading and taking off his rimless eyeglasses. "I know there's an empty room across the hall from mine, if you're interested."

He chuckles a little, mostly to himself. "You don't know how bloody right you are." Glancing around he notes the fact that he's in a library then muses to himself for a moment about how long it's been since he's been in a library. His thoughts flit briefly to Buffy and the wanting to avoid that thought altogether brings him back to the current conversation. "Wouldn't happen to be a room with no windows would it?"

It might be the following night when he comes across a pretty girl coming down the hallway, a candle in hand and carrying a thick book under her arm. She's rather a winsome little thing, dressed like she wandered in out of a Jane Austen movie.

He very nearly bumps into her, he's still trying to figure out exactly what's going on. He takes a step back, about to say something more than a little rude, though he stops himself, still not sure about all that goes into this place. "Rather late for a nice young thing like you to be wanderin' about, don't you think?"

She starts a bit when she sees him, but she smiles, a little nervously yet amused. "Oh, I have been staying up late reading: the atmosphere of the shadowy room helps enhance the atmosphere of the horrid tales that I read," she says.

Laughing he replies, "Is that so?" He shakes his head. "Love, if you'd seen half the things I have you wouldn't be so keen on shadows."
