[Introduction: Samuel Knowles] So I stood for a moment and pondered my case...

Jan 04, 2014 08:09

Sam always got antsy before a new show. It was silly, he knew, and he even already had buyers emailing him constantly, wanting to purchase this piece or that piece before they even went up on display. The day before, and the anxiety and shower of comments and last minute changes was starting to overwhelm him (as it often did and still nobody ( Read more... )

He might notice in the distance a small bundled up figure, walking around intently, as though she were inspecting the place. Anita is tiny, but there is confidence in her bearing and certainly some energy in the way she performs her round. There might be a white wolf in the background somewhere, or maybe not - the snow does provide Lukas with opportunities for camouflage...

As if she'd heard him from too far, she turns her attention towards the man and angles to intercept his course. She walks with purpose, but isn't running - this isn't by any means an arrest.

It's been a while since I used Anita as a greeting committee, so here she is! :-)

Sam does spot the woman and does notice her coming up towards him, so he takes gloved hands from his pockets to be sure and present as much of a non threat as someone with his build can.

Hopefully the woman will have information.

And isn't trying to shout at him from a distance. If there is a wolf, he certainly won't notice unless the animal is obvious.

Anita will wave when they're in talking distance, and say, "Hey there!" she's friendly, smiling, if a little bit concerned (or would be, depending on whether the guy's clothes are appropriate for the weather).

"Bit cold for a leisure walk, isn't it?"

Sam doesn't know her and so when she's in visual range, he only catches the tail end of her mouth moving. He offers an apologetic smile.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to stumble on your property. I think I got a bit lost."

Presumably his greeting committee of secret werewolves will have helped Sam get to the Mansion - at which point, he might encounter a woman in the kitchen. Helen is making scrambled eggs, and there are flat breads laid out with greens and tomatoes. She's making brunch for her boys, but there'll probably be plenty for Sam too, if he's hungry.

He's inside, still confused and sure there's been a misunderstanding somewhere (or maybe it's the shock?), but when Sam finally does wander into the kitchen, he is relieved that there is at least someone else around.

He will try to stay out of her way though and may look for a glass or bottle of water. All the weirdness has made him thirsty...

Helen is sure that it's 11-12 she's hearing fussing about in the background, so she asks, "Oh, 11-12, might you hand me the milk, please? I'll brew a pot of coffee."

...

"11-12?"

...

Eventually she turns around, having extended an arm out without looking for longer than is right, and blinks. "... Oh, I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking, I thought you were my son."

Let me know if this don't work?

It's the movement that catches his eye, though he doesn't hear her of course, and Sam will offer an apologetic smile and a spread of his hands.

"Ah, sorry. Was there something I could help you with? I don't mean to intrude..."

In the common room, he might spot a guy, curled up on the sofa, reading a heavy book.

He's attune to his surroundings, though - as Niko always is, and might occasionally look at the door, as if he were expecting someone, or on the lookout, or.... something.

Sam might offer a smile if he's spotted and a bit of a wave. "I hope I'm not intruding..." He might want to sit and have a quiet freak out, but he won't if this guy wants the place to himself.

Niko looks up, looks relieved (why is he even reading this in public, seriously) and shakes his head before he puts the book on his lap.

"It's a public place," he replies calmly.

Public. Good to know. Sam smiles again.

"Doesn't mean some people don't want strangers coming around to bother them."

Well, Max insisted. After her ethereal conversation with Sam, she apparently thinks they should meet in the flesh, or something? So here we are.

If Sam wanders into the common room, he might stumble upon an unusual sight: a busty brunette, roasting marshmallows on the end of a poker, and slowly eating them.

She's eating her emotions, since she can't go home, ever again.

The smell might give her away first, huh?

Ah, the familiar smell of burning marshmallows. Sam will come across her, likely after having gotten lost again and gravitating towards the only other places he's been able to find consistantly. He'll move to sit near the fire, though not close enough to actually disturb the young woman.

He's not exactly sutble though, considering his size and looks.

He's also really hard to miss because HOT. And we're not talking about the raging fire that's currently roasting Max's marshmallows. (Make of this what you will.)

"Well, hello there," she says slowly, "come to beg for a sweet treat?"

She's really talking about the food - so long as there's food between her and a hot guy, she's good. Don't expect her to flirt openly, though. She might become a puddle of awkward.

Sam spots her move to look at him and catches the greeting. He chuckles softly, and shakes his head.

"You just need chocolate and crackers and you're set here."

Erica is sitting in a window seat on the third floor. She enjoys looking out at the wintery scene beyond the panes of glass, and has a blanket thrown over her feet. With her lycanthropic metabolism, she rarely gets cold, but her toes are freezing. Maybe she's run too far in the snow earlier.

She's leaning against some pillows, reading a book. She looks friendly enough.

Sam has given up for the time being on finding anything familiar and he'll wander into a room on the third floor, this time with a pad of paper and pencil in hand. If he's trapped, at least until the weather clears, maybe he can clear his head as well.

He sees another strange young woman, spares a thought for how he has yet to really see the same person twice in this room yet they all seem similar (it's the books), and folds down in a chair to sketch.

Erica notes the stranger. She makes a habit these days of cataloging people's appearance and scent. She doesn't recognize his smell, which probably means he's new. She'll close her book and walk over. "I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you're new." She doesn't know to be in his line of sight, so she might not be at all.

She isn't, but her movement alone gets Sam's attention and he looks up from a very basic sketch of the room at large with a smile.

"I'm sorry?" He's human, he's new, and he's wondering why there are so many women here. Not that he minds of course...
