When the evening came, Emma surveyed her queendom and thought it was good. The food had arrived from Ching Tai, her muffins were done and decorated and might even be edible this time around, and the bar was fully stocked - Both with alcohol and weetiny umbrellas.

All that was needed now were the guests.

Never one to pass up the opportunity to admire a beautiful woman, Roy didn't bother to hide checking out Emma's dress as he made his way over to her.

"Good evening, Emma," he greeted with a smile.

"Roy," Emma replied, smiling back and posing a little so the full effect of the dress became clear. "I'm glad you could make it."

"As am I. Thank you for the invitation," Roy said, definitely enjoying the posing before he met her eyes. "You look lovely as always."

"Why, thank you! You're looking quite handsome as well," Emma complimented as she eyed him appreciatively. "What have you been doing lately? Anything interesting?"

"Hmmm, things have actually been pretty quiet," Roy confessed. "It's mostly been paperwork, but I suppose in some ways that's not a bad thing. The lack of exploding buildings is rather refreshing."

Emma grinned. "Well, the school hasn't been rebuilt yet. In my experience schools don't blow up again until a few months after it's been rebuilt."

Roy raised an eyebrow. "You have a lot of experience with exploding schools then?"

"Oh, yes." Emma nodded. "Xavier's school blows up all the time. I'm sure Xavier mindwipes the insurance agents, no matter what he says."

Roy had no idea what Xavier's was, but he let it pass. The other part was more interesting. "Mindwiping? Is that what it sounds like it is?"

"Well, there are degrees," Emma said. "Usually I just remove certain moments and memories. Certainly I could completely scrub a mind free of everything, but that's usually pointless." She made a face. "And Xavier have all these morals and ethics and such."

Emma shrugged. "They are when they get in the way of doing what's necessary."

For the barest of seconds an image of buildings smoldering underneath the desert sun came to mind, but he pushed the thought aside. "As long as you know what is necessary and what isn't," he said more seriously.

Emma nodded confidently, and then gave him a bright smile. "Right now I'm certain it's necessary for me to get another Cosmo. How about you?"
