[ It was sort of cowardly, really, the way she'd pretty much run off on him the second he said he loved her. But that was her default reaction for when things edged into that 'I can't deal with this,' territory. In all truthfulness, she wasn't sure she really believed him when he said it, either.

Oh, she thought that he believed it, but. Well. He's nineteen. She's eighteen. What do they know about love, really? And after everything she's been through, especially the things she was told about what made her go a little crazy, she's not exactly sure what she's supposed to be thinking and feeling right about now.

Which means she's more than a little anxious when she flies over to Terry's apartment and knocks on the door. ]
