It's Tuesday afternoon, day 2 at the trade show, and I'm enjoy a bit of semi-relaxation. Semi-relaxation means semi-busy, though, and I am at least semi-busy.
This morning was busy with supporting a two hour workshop. I wasn't very impressed with the people leading it so I did as much as I could in a supporting role to improve it. I was careful not to stand up and say, "Okay, what you just heard is misleading and partly untrue, allow me to explain accurately how it works and why that's so exciting."
Following that I debriefed with a few colleagues on customer conversations. That was the beginning of "semi"-busy because even though I was working it's less challenging to discuss a challenge constructively with colleagues than handle a room full of customers and prospective customers asking questions.
After lunch I had some genuine downtime. Like, sit in my hotel room with my work laptop closed, downtime. But only for a bit. Then it was time to do some prep for the big demo presentation I'm delivering on Thursday. Yes, this is the presentation that
dogged me all of last week on vacation. I hit yet-another problem with preparing the demo. I'm past it now, but again it took more time than I thought to do something so, again, even though I'm making progress I'm now further behind schedule. 😰
I've put aside the demo prep for now as it's time to shift over to prep for cosplay this evening. The conference keynote and expo reception are this evening, and I'm playing Jenkins again! So now it's time to
iron my towel and get the rest of my costume together. I'll need to head back over to the convention center in full butler dress in just under an hour!
