[ Kirk is sitting out on the porch of House 7. A cup of hot cocoa in his hands, he's staring out over the snowy ground. He has been sitting outside for awhile now. Occasionally he'll take a drink of his cocoa, but otherwise he just stares out over scenery.
[See Roxas walk. See Roxas walking around with his hood up of his Organization coat. He doesn't really like wearing it, but it's warm and he's cold. So yeah, he's just cutting through house 7's lawn...]
[Doesn't matter too much why Cid's out there, though he is coming from the direction of town. But you - you're not supposed to sit out on a porch like an old cat lady.]
[Cid wanders over and leans against one of the porch support posts. He's actually not smoking this time, though he's got 'em.] So what's eatin' you?
[It'd likely be non-surgically taken apart and go for kindling.]
Yer lookin' out over the trees like you wouldn't notice if a goddamn meteor'd fall and hit you. [Oh come on Cid, not like you haven't done that plenty.]
[Here comes Uhura, poking her head out the door to see where you got to. She's got lots and lots of layers on, maybe more than necessary, but it's really cold here for someone who grew up in Africa. In one hand, she has a mug of that hot cocoa and there's a somewhat oddly-shaped package tucked under her arm that Jim might notice as she sits down next to him.
There is a mostly-comfortable silence for several minutes before she says anything.]
[She nods slightly, still trying to think of how to say this.]
You're doing a good job, you know. And if anyone can think of a weird and probably very dangerous way of getting out of here, it's you.
[She pauses a moment, turning the package over in her hands.]
Being so down isn't very good for crew morale, though. I'm sure you have your reasons, God knows just being here is enough to put a damper on anyone's cheerfulness. But, well. Here. [She offers him the package.] Merry Christmas.
[ Kirk goes to explain himself but stops when she offers him the package. He blinks a few times then takes it, glancing up at her before going to open it. ]

Permission to speak freely, Captain?

[ He glances at the package then looks back out over the snow with a sniff. ]
