The last few days had been rough, to say the least. Not that he had that much more reason than normal to complain, but having an added tailspin of weird heaped onto his and Daphne's relationship was pretty far down the list of things he had been preparing himself to deal with. At least now he knew better in case (heaven forbid) something this terrifying ever happened again.
He almost didn't swing by her hut that morning, but decided to at the last second. He may not have been particularly bright when it came to these matters, but avoiding her was obviously not going to help anyone. Besides, it was pretty late in the morning, she was probably out running, anyway.
That damn horse of hers actually turned its head to watch him as he walked by, and Matt half expected it to snort or stamp its hoof or something. "Easy, Presto," he warned gruffly, quickly walking up to Daphne's door and knocking.
