Day/Theme: March 5th - Way of the wise.

Character/Pairing: Kana, Chiaki, Haruka

Kana was bored. Haruka had gone out with Maki and Chiaki was studying quietly at the table. Calls to Uchida, Touma, Keiko, and everyone else had gone unanswered. The television wasn't even offering a proper distraction.

She laid her head on her arms, resting against the top of the kotatsu. Watching Chiaki, Kana found her eyes practically crossing as the boredom washed over her once again. With a start, she jumped up, startling Chiaki.

Kana ran to the kitchen, opening cabinets and the refrigerator, delighting in the racket caused by her frantic pace. A plan began to form in her mind. Slowly, she walked back to join Chiaki. With a grin, she slowly, peeked around the wall and sighed dramatically.

"Chiaki! How could we have forgotten today of all days?!"

Chiaki whirled around, confused. "What are you talking about, dumbass?"

Kana only shook her head. "Haruka would be heartbroken if she heard you say that! If you don't want to help, I'll just make Haruka a cake all by myself."

Chiaki glowered, but Kana could see the spark of curiosity in her eyes. Kana looked directly into Chiaki's eyes before sighing and walking back towards the kitchen. Within moments Chiaki had joined her, glaring from the doorway.

"Haruka nee-sama..."

Kana grinned, resisting the urge to bounce in glee. "Chiaki! Have you finally come to your senses?"

"Dumbass. As if anything you could make would be fit for Haruka nee-sama."

Chiaki huffed and Kana tried her best not to laugh at the stubborn expression firmly planted on her younger sister's face. Sometimes, it was just too easy.

Looking around the kitchen, Chiaki glanced at Kana. Kana only grinned as she began to gather the ingredients for a cake. "Don't worry, Chiaki! She'll love it!"

Chiaki took a deep breath and began to measure everything out. Kana tried to add a few extra ingredients, but a quick slap of the mixing spoon kept her from going too far overboard.

"Dumbass, those don't belong in a cake!"

Kana only grinned as Chiaki banned her from helping.

Kana sat at the table, quietly fanning herself as Chiaki glared at the finished cake. Kana had given up trying to sneak bites after Chiaki had made it clear that nothing would be eaten until Haruka arrived. Her hand still stung from the mixing spoon.

The sound of the door opening made Chiaki sit up straight while Kana raced down the hallway. Kana grabbed Haruka around the waist, welcoming her home and nearly knocking her over in the process. Haruka steadied herself, laughing as Kana helped her out of her coat and shoes to drag her towards the kitchen.

Chiaki was unusually quiet as Kana practically pushed Haruka into the kitchen in her haste to get to the cake. Kana pulled her over, beaming in pride as Haruka's gentle scolding quieted once the cake was in sight.

"Haruka nee-sama...I hope you like it."

"Chiaki...Kana..."

Chiaki blushed as Kana bounced around the kitchen, gathering plates and other necessities.

Kana laid on the floor, hand over her stomach. Cake was always such a wonderful treat. Especially when it was chocolate.

Haruka gently tugged her shirt down, telling her she shouldn't lay like that or she would get a cold. Kana only giggled, too content to say anything.

"So what was the special occasion for the cake?"

Kana froze, glancing at Chiaki. The younger girl silently reached beside her, producing Fujioka. With deadly aim, she lobbed the teddy bear at Kana, shouting at the top of her lungs. Kana barely felt the impact, still too giddy from the cake.
