So my brain is pretty much all fandom, all the time these days. I'm into Inception like crazy (reeeally need to see it again, you guys, even though I saw it last night), plus still Doctor Who and now Sherlock as well. And White Collar and Merlin! And Community! I think you mostly summed up my feelings on Arthur/Eames, to be honest. The first pairing I ever shipped was Draco/Hermione, so obviously there's a lot of that bickering there. Also a love/hate dynamic which is what attracts me to pairings in pretty much every fandom, to be honest, and Arthur and Eames have elements of that.

Also, slash goggles obviously influenced this, but I can see every single scene as them having not only chemistry, but serious history. Every single scene that they're in together! The second time I watched it I was kind of amazed.

I think, at this point, I could go on and on about why I love them both (together and separate), but so much of it is created from so little on the screen that I don't necessarily know how it all started. This, though, is something I can definitely pin down. I love the affectionate antagonism of any pairing... I'm at a loss without it.

Oh, definitely. Which leaves us as authors plenty of room to fill in that history. ;D

One of my favorite things about the movie is all the interaction we get with the characters that another writer might have left out entirely because it doesn't forward the story at all. And pair of people with as much, no animosity really, but friction, as Eames and Arthur have HAVE to have had an interesting back story together. Like, what kind of job did they work where Eames decided Arthur didn't have any imagination? WHY IS ARTHUR KEEPING TABS ON WHERE EAMES IS? But um...I also ship them pretty hard, so that might just be me. God I love the Inception fandom. ♥

Also, Matt Smith and his floppy hair make my life.

My thoughts exactly! They have a mutual respect for each other even through the bickering, which obviously comes from somewhere. The beauty of it is that, not being told, we can come up with any scenario.

Inception fandom is my world right now. I can't even. Just so much wonderful fic!

Everything you have said about Arthur/Eames is basically how I feel about them and their relationship.

And they have excellent bickering, even if we don't get nearly enough glimpses of it I completely agree!

I am really drawn to bickering and a love/hate relationship between the characters that I ship (Shawn/Lassiter and the Doctor/the Master just to name a couple) so I was naturally drawn to Arthur/Eames because of that. There is really so much I want to know about them!

Yes exactly! And luckily fandom is exploding and giving us all kinds of scenarios with their past, present, and future. I just can't get enough!

inception_kink has stolen my brain! I think it's hard to define why I like any one pairing, especially when it's a fandom that gives the bones of a house instead of a whole house. (I tried to make that work, but yea...) Well, I like the love/hate aspect, and that one is laid-back and the other is straight-laced. The competition is fabulous, and then there is a team dynamic/camaraderie.

Oh man, I love the mini-picspam. Which just proves that there need to be MORE moments but luckily fandom is there for us on that. :P
