Loved the literal interptretation, how Merlin's kinda like a Shakesperean wise fool, the only man allowed to tease the king. And he does it out of love. You've packed so much here.

Ah, this was wonderful! Merlin again taking on a silly hat, for Arthur's sake. The nod to the historical origins was a very nice touch. :D

I love how Merlin is so intent on keeping Arthur happy, even if it means he will be an object of ridicule. This was a very clever idea and well executed.
