Douglas/Martin established relationship.
Martin's up to something, Douglas knows it, recognises all the signs, but for the life of him he can't work out what it is. All the evidence points to an affair (not Arthur surely!), but his knowledge of Martin says it can't be. After Helena though Douglas just can't be sure of his own judgement anymore, which he personally never thought would be possible. Angst, self-doubt, sleeplessness and suspicion ensue.
Finally he can't take it anymore and the moment he's been dreading arrives and he wants to put it off just a little longer and then... Martin asks Douglas to marry him :)

"Come on, Martin! We'll have passengers waiting for us at this rate! And Carolyn won't be happy about that," Douglas shouted, slinging his overnight bag over his shoulder and picking up Martin's from the bedroom floor.
"Just a minute!" Martin shouted through the bathroom door - the locked bathroom door - Douglas noted, and frowned.
He looked down at the travel bag in his hand, and the overwhelming urge to use the spare few minutes to rummage around it shot through him, followed quickly by the realisation that finding evidence would only make him even more unhappy.
He dropped the bags to the floor and sat on the edge of the bed; their bed since Martin had moved in four months ago. He removed his cap and caught a glimpse of a grey, podgy middle-aged man in the mirror. No wonder, Douglas though to himself wretchedly

The drive to Fitton airport was quiet and tense, and any scheme of Douglas' to distract Martin from whatever plans he had for that new uniform and damn new haircut came to naught as Carolyn met them as the car drew up to the portacabin

"Arthur..." Martin stuttered, seeing the anger grow as he uttered their steward's name. "Arthur's going to be your best man and he's lost my ring I gave him on Saturday. I was convinced it was in his pockets and he was convinced it was in mine. We were...searching for the box

*squees* I just got home from work and this was in my notifications inbox! Best way to get motivated to do assignments! *hugs* Oh Douglas, how could you think that Martin would ever leave you? Silly boys.
"Good Morning, this your First Officer Douglas Richardson speaking to welcome you on board today. After a rather turbulent start this morning I am happy to announce we are on schedule, however there will be a slight alteration to your crew for the return journey. After a few threats of diversions, and a promise of cheese tray rights to the Captain for the rest of his natural life, I am pleased to announce that flying you home today will be Captain Martin Richardson."
Glad you liked it! I'm also doing an interlude scene because the idea of Martin driving up to meet Douglas' daughter won't leave me alone. I'll post it back here soon.
