Wish I could just find random pants. I'm kind of at a complete lack of pants that aren't worn out (from being old) and/or ripped up (from bike riding).
Ah yes, that wonderful moment when clothes that stopped fitting some time ago now fit again!
I've still got a couple of items of what P. and I call 'aspirational clothing' - stuff that you keep around in the hope you will one day be able to wear them. My aspirationals are a couple of shirts which, according to the label, I ought to be able to wear but are just a little too tight around the stomach to be entirely comfortable (that's one of my frustrations with clothes manufacturers - why is it that a medium from one place will fit perfectly fine but another will be too small?).
Hey, don't talk to me about sizing discrepancies--I have to buy women's pants. At least sizes like "medium" don't make some pretense of absolute measurement of something like, say, the number "7." Which tells you virtually NOTHING about how big a given pair of pants is likely to be, and yet, there it is on the tag.
But yes, I have a few items like that around, too--like my only suit. :-)
