Good things come to those who wait. Lucky us.

Wow, I didn’t know you had mention of milo when I made my last comment, spooky. Yeah, I heard the good press about them live but it’s good to hear that they sound great live, some bands will sound ok live but tend to think being there live is enough. So a great sound and a heck of a stage show, huh?

You did say you might faint during the post. But a lot of the time will build up what they expect a concert to be like so much in their mind that it doesn’t always match up. Sounds like you were lucky enough to have a band that goes the distance to try to live up to that standard, if not exceed it. From the sound to the musicians being on top form, plus you have a crowd of people you love this band as much as you do (if that’s possible). Carry all you luggage around, heh. The first thing I thought when you mention One Tree Hill was “I wonder if she will mention the song?” Never been to any other part of Auckland except the city and airport really so don’t know what it’s like. Fancy huh? ( ... )

Sunday, bloody Sunday. That must have been madness. And getting a kid on stage, brilliant. Bono AND Adam touched the flag/headband, I hope the original owner got it back. I’m sure it would’ve been. Sounds like he was very much a show man when he went to light the fireworks. And he sings Opera too? Fan-girl away, little one. Plenty of sing-a-long parts in songs is always good. Not everyone can keep up with singing even if they know the words and there probably were a few people trying to sing every song but a good karaoke chorus with that many people, must have been great ( ... )

It was, dude. ;) Definitely one of my favourites from the night.

Bono AND Adam touched the flag/headband, I hope the original owner got it back.

Lucky bastard. :P Aw, I forgot to mention in the OP that at one point, Bono grabs someone's water bottle out from the audience, takes a swig, and HANDS IT BACK!! Meningitis risk, much?! Still...I'd have been stoked...:P

Sounds like he was very much a show man when he went to light the fireworks

Ooooh, yes! He's a performer, that's for real.

So for the encore they changed it so it was all very ZOO-TV, noice.

Yeah, it looked AMAZING! I've only ever seen little snatches of ZOOTV though...me, I'm more of a Rattle and Hum chick. Ever seen that DVD? Magic...

but of course he couldn‘t forget the Irish too. Not with that crowd and some people who just love everything Irish.

Yeah...he wore that green jersey just for me...;)

Wow, they must have been thirsty (or desperate for souvenirs), did you sell them the water?Well, Deb only had a wee ( ... )

Aw, Robbie, you're a doll! *huggles* Thanks so much for your awesome long comments. At least I know some people have read it word for word. :P Nah, everyone that's read it has been really positive so far. I was seriously thinking some people would be all like, "Oi! Ezza! Get your gushy fangirlish blabber off my friend's page! How dare you sully my fine computer screen with such filth!"

But yes. Your comment...

Wow, I didn’t know you had mention of milo when I made my last comment, spooky.

*g* Crunchy milo, mate. Only way to drink a cup of milo. Cold, with all the powder floating on the top. OMGSOGOOD!!

some bands will sound ok live but tend to think being there live is enough.

True dat. Robbie Williams, back in 2001, for example. That really was a lame gig. But yeah...U2 were truly excellent. Personally, I reckon you can pick a honest-to-goodness talented band by the way they perform live. Cos some bands are completely airbrushed and manufactured and polished on record. And it's sad, really.

Never been to any other part of ( ... )

Sounds like one hell of a concert, really wish I could have seen it!

Yeah I thought you were totally using the Python joke "What was that? I think he said 'Blessed are the Cheese Makers'?!"... but yeah you HAVE to see Life of Brian, it's not nearly as blasphemous as the Christian protestors of the time (who largely had not seen the film) would have people believe.

Heee! Next tour, mate! With any luck they'll actually play at the Cake Tin next time...

I think Bono did say "cheesemakers". Cos he's a big dork. :P But yeah, I will make it my mission to see Life of Brian. And meh, I'm a big girl, I can deal with people poking fun at Christianity. I am a Father Ted fan, afterall.

"Surely you don't believe everything we learned in the seminary is true, Ted? All that 'bout heaven and hell and everlasting life..."

Or something to that effect. :P

Ah Father Ted was a brilliant show. Dougal FTW (and his other show My Hero is pretty groovy too).

I forgot to say before that I loove Mysterious Ways, and "have you come here to play Jesus to the lepers in your head?" is my favourite U2 lyric also!

Dougal brings the love. ;) Can't say I enjoyed My Hero all that much. Found the concept a bit daft, to be honest.

I loove Mysterious Ways

It's cool, eh?! Hee, the crowed yelling out "On yer knees, boy!" along with Bono was another highlight. ;)

"have you come here to play Jesus to the lepers in your head?" is my favourite U2 lyric also!

Noice! *high five* Man, I've got about a bazillion favourite lyrics...might have to post a few on here. As I said up top, Bono definitely has that Irish way with words. I'm reading his autobiography at the moment...and his way with language just gets me every time!

Aw man, I'm so hanging out for the next tour eh?!

Well worth the wait, m'dear. What absolutely bloody fantastic night! It's so GOOD to hear a concert account from someone who really appreciates the music. You know, instead of those people who see musicians you really love, and say oh-so-causally, 'Yeh, it was a good show.' *kills people like that*

MEEHEHE, you heard 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own'! I have to say, I love that song. 'Mysterious Ways' 'One' *sigh* So happy that it was such a fantastic night!

Glad to be of service, love! *big sweepy bow*

MEEHEHE, you heard 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own'!

Yup. :) It was beautiful. Very emotional performance. Do you know the story behind it? Bono actually wrote it for his father who passed away about 5 years ago, and he performed it at his funeral. So yeah, made me tear-up ever so slightly!

Mysterious Ways was loads of fun. And One was gorgeous...esepcially with the place all lit up from 45000 cellphones! Not going to forget that in a hurry.

Argh, boys! Come back....!!!
