Wait, so you're saying history will repeat itself? Not to be sarcastic or snide, but thats the way it works in a "free" market economy. But don't worry, third world countries have a way of taking odd quirky technological leaps and bounds to remain competitive. And as for bloggers, they will continue to exist in any country. The language barrier, now thats an issue.

"history will repeat itself?"
Absolutely or rather history is repeating itself now.

I assume by your emphasise on the word "free" you might agree with some that there's no 'free market economy':)

"third world countries... quirky,... competitive."
Yes. Looking forward to some cultures to develop thier reverse-engineering skill base as the gap between the 1st & 3rd world broadens on the 'Net. Especially as China is expanding into poorer countries and I expect China's cultural blindness to copyright to 'contaminate' the cultures they exploit/support. Could that be described as a 'meme'?

"bloggers... continue to exist in any country."
But with a comparatively slower speed any dissemination will be slower. Giving Gov/Media more than enough time to run up misinformation scams to destroy credibility of any story that doesn't suit their purpose. Not talking about conspiracys, that's just the way selfish greedy people work.

speed of information dissemination has never increased more rapidly than now. remember about thirty years ago, telephones, in some of these countries, would be considered rapid forms of communication. also, the telefax and its predecessors were just beginning to see their full advent in the 90s in most third world countries at the highest levels of corporate and government tiers. books, essays and written printed literature used to be the main vehicle of broad dissemination of opinions (information, sometimes). we're moving very quickly. and the world will continue to rotate even if everyone is not instantaneously allowed to express their disappointment or wonderment of it.

humanity will find a way (or we won't).
