We have been encouraging Joshua to try out for the "Science Bowl" team for three years, but he had refused because he doesn't like competitive endeavors.  (The whole winning/losing thing has never been easy for him.)

This year, he acquiesced to at least take the test, if only to make us shut up.

The cross-post from G+ seems to have resulted in your entry having hard-coded black text with a hard-coded white background (like highlighting, not whole-page background). You'd probably never notice if you weren't reading in a reverse-video theme.

Wow. Didn't see that one coming. I suppose I could paste into Notepad as an intermediary. How many people invert their text like that? (I presume that it makes it easier for you to read.)

I do. I don't know how many others do. :-) (Yes, it's much easier on my eyes that way.)

I've seen this formatting glitch before, but I hadn't made the connection to G+ before. (The other journals where I've seen it also repeat content between the two.) What are you doing, selecting in G+ and then pasting into the LJ editor? The RTF one, I assume? Using the HTML editor might fix it for you without having to pass through Notepad.
