Cold december night watch

Dad sleeps, for now, and I'm waiting for the first morning team to arrive and help dad change side in bed, and check the diapers etc. We never know exactly when they show up, entirely depends on who's working, and their other patients, but they are supposed to come some time between 5 and 6 in the morning. Your pic looks so lovely that it's difficult to remember that picturesque weather is best experienced on a Christmas card! I do hope nothing prevents your Lund trip - you need the rest and recreation.

I assume he's not coming off the NG tube? Why don't they put in a PEG tube? If I were you, I'd ask about that.

A PEG probably doesn't work with his messed up intestines and tummy, not without a major surgery anyway, and that's something he probably wouldn't survive. Several gastro-surgeons have checked out his tummy and the risks are worse than the gains. He also have a colostomy bag that sits much higher than usual and which could cause problems with a PEG

An NG-feeding tube is annoying but the lesser evil at the moment
