I'm back in Gothenburg, and visited dad for a very short time this evening. He is doing much better than last week, but was quite tired and about to go to sleep when I arrived straight from the train, so mum and I left after just an hour. My feelings exactly *g*. Blåbärssoppa is da thing for an upset tummy. And many thanks for all your wonderful comments! I've been so bad with keeping up with thecomments, but I really appriciate them all!

{very delicate hugs} Sorry that you're feeling so poorly. I hope that you're better soon - but with all the stress, it's kind of expected, so I hope that you take some time to take care of yourself.

And thank you for the link to the Blåbärssoppa - I had never heard of that! How interesting.

Blåbärssoppa is wonderful. I like it a little less thick, so usually just add some extra hot water to get the more runny texture.

It's also vital for Swedes during the big cross country ski race Vasaloppet, which will take place on Sunday, 90 km of skiing celebrating our famous king Gustav Vasa who liberated Sweden from the Danes in 1523. They serve soup in every resting stop, and they say every competitor will drink around 1 litre soup each (and there are about 40,000 participants in all the races so that's a LOT of blåbärssoppa!

I've of course never done the race, but it's one of those things every Swede kind of dreams of doing once in their lifetime.
