This post is for threading with Zuko anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. This will be used primarily for 'placement' threads such as: someone left a present or 'by the way, come to this party on such-and-such' or the like ( Read more... )

[It's the day of the duel. Morning, in fact. Sokka has passed up his training this morning so he won't end up with any unfortunate injuries. He's done his stretching, a few drills, and he's now heading out to the barracks to meet Zuko for this duel. Time to settle who the real man of the house is!]

[Well since they have their swords pressed together, Sokka is going to use the advantage of both standing up and using his sword two handed to try and push Zuko back.]

I wouldn't even know where to put it. I have all my other weapons to consider, you know.

Right. [Zuko pushes back, electing not to disengage just yet.] 'Cause the boomerang is just that awesome.

[Well then it's a battle of strength then. Sokka will be counting on his weight to give him the edge here.]

It beat Combustion Man, didn't it?

[Hey, Sokka. Zuko has two swords. It has to be a quick move -- and Zuko's pretty good with quick moves. He holds the position with one sword and swings the other toward Sokka's legs.]

[Damn, Zuko was able to strike back faster than he expected. He quickly hops backwards, over and away from the blow. But he quickly retaliates with a repeat overhead strike, two handed and this time with a little more force behind the blow.]

[It's because Zuko's awesome, Sokka. The sooner you realize that, the better your life will be. Seriously.

Rather than meeting the blow, Zuko somersaults away, effortlessly rising to his feet.] Did you want me to drop one of these, make it more fair?

[Sokka grins. It looks like Zuko is getting serious now, huh?]

Why would I want you do that? I'd hate to take away the only thing giving you a fair chance.

[What's a little mock-fighting between friends?]

Good one. I'm stung. Really.

Thanks. But we already know I can beat you at verbal sparring anytime.

[He'll charge in again, this time with his sword held low, going for a straight uppercut.]

[Which is why this is not verbal sparring. Zuko parries with one sword and does a straightforward thrust with the other.]

[Sokka quickly spins around, moving out of the way of the thrust, and putting him in a position to quickly bring his sword down on the outstretched blade, fast and hard, trying to use the force to disarm Zuko. Fighting someone with two swords is tricky. The sooner he can get Zuko down to one, the better.]

[The hit is jarring, but he doesn't lose his grip on the sword. (It's a bit of a close thing, though.) Zuko retreats after the hit, dancing backward in the hopes of giving his hand just a moment to recover.]

[Sokka is going to keep pressing his advantage, hoping to leave Zuko no time to recover. He'll feint towards Zuko's good hand, but quickly bring his blade back to Zuko's other, trying to quickly twist it away before he has to dodge another blow.]

[Nope. No moment to recover and Zuko cannot keep his grip strong after that jarring move without it. Rather than try to save something that won't be saved, he drops the sword -- going against all training -- and swings his other sword at Sokka's midsection.]

[There's not enough time to deflect it, so Sokka is forced to dive forward, letting the sword pass over him, nicking just the tip of his wolf tail. He immediately rolls over, bring his sword up to protect himself from whatever Zuko does next.]]
