At least you now know a friend of yours from back home? It's better than nothing. I don't understand how books wouldn't be as important as "advanced technology" though.

Wow, what a great memory to regain! It all sounds wonderful... but how sad that so few people seemed to appreciate the books...

I suppose that is the silver lining, isn't it? If fewer people sought out the books, that left more for you and your friend!

But I'm curious, weren't writers where you came from? Was there some other medium for story-telling? It would be heartbreaking to hear that the practice had ended...

Yeah! I'm pretty sure that's how he looked at it, anyway.

I don't really remember. I know we still had stories, though - somehow! I can't imagine life without stories to read and to tell!
