i just finished reading generation kill. this is one of the most fascinating books i've ever read. you really get inside the world of recon marines, what they're like, why they're there and the unbelievable amount of officer asshattery they're forced to put up with during the 2003 invasion of iraq.

Grr, I've been meaning to buy the book, but never really got around purchasing it. I used to go by my bookstore, see if it's still there and read a chapter (or parts of it) -- as I've been stalking it for weeks. : ( Now they took it off the shelves and I've been having a hard time looking for a copy ever since. I should've bought it.
